The Marikamba Collection — Chapter 06
Wooden Sculpture
Sculpture is where our forty-year legacy began — reading the grain, finding the figure, and releasing it without fighting the wood.
Deities, yalis, panels and free-standing figures are carved in the round by sculptors trained in the tradition our founder has practised for over four decades. Each piece is commissioned to its context — temple, home or institution.
Every piece shown here left our workshop in Sirsi as seasoned timber and was carved, fitted and finished entirely by hand. Commissions are welcome in any scale.
